Here is the scenerio, You just hit your drive into the deep rough. How do
you get the ball out and what club should I use?
The long grass will make the face of the club close on you and thus decrease
the loft of the club. For this reason, I would recommend that you should use a
more lofted club than if the ball were in the fairway or short grass.
If you have a long distance left, consider getting the ball out first. Use
the lofted fairway woods #5, #6, #7 or even you utility hybrid club.
The long grass will decrease the loft of these clubs and the ball will
actually go the distance of the less lofted fairway woods.
Around the green, you must use a more lofted club also. The use of a wedge or 9-iron
will do the job for you. The effect of the long green will once again decrease the loft of the club. The ball will travel lower and run more than if it were in the fairway.
Remember; allow the loft of the club to do the work and get the ball out of the rough!

Bobby Eldridge, in his book Purepoint Golf describes the addressing of the ball as follows:
As you address the golf ball there are some critical parts of the setup that must be in place before you start the back swing. Once you are set to go, if you look down and see the grip-end of the golf club across from your belt buckle there is a good chance you have MOST of the critical parts in place.
Having the grip-end of the golf club across from your belt buckle assures you of having your head in the correct position, not tilted too far to the left side or the right side of the golf ball. The second part is your spine is probably in the correct position, if the grip end is pointing towards you chin, your spine is too long. If the grip end is pointing lower than your belt buckle, your spine is bent over too much. Lastly, the most crucial part is the golf club is soled on the ground with the correct amount of loft.
The golf club being soled correctly on the ground is the sure guarantee that you are in the correct setup, after you confirm all the positions that we discussed above.

This is one of the most feared shots in all of golf by the amateur.
Why? Because it looks so intimidating when you can barely see
your ball, but it doesn’t need to be that way. You will be hitting
great shots and impressing your friends when you follow these steps!
Let’s say that you just don’t have a “fried egg” (where 50% of
the ball is buried) but only the very top of the ball is visible.
What do you do? Follow these steps and you’ll be able to hit
any lie that you have in a bunker.
Here’s what you do:
1. Choke down on the golf club, about in the same position
as a normal bunker shot (1-2 inches from the bottom of the grip).
2. Take your normal stance, however open it up a little bit.
3. The majority of your weight should be on your front foot .
4. Close your clubface and press your hands forward just a
little (this will ensure you to drive the ball out of the sand).
5. Keep your lower body still! This is so important, especially
in this shot!
6. Just like a normal bunker shot take a steep backswing so
that the butt of the club is pointed at the ball. *Remember that
your left arm is going to lead this shot and will be completely
parallel with the ground. Your right elbow is in the locked position.
7. When you start your downswing do not shift your weight – keep
the majority of your weight on your front foot.
8. So once you’ve started your steep downswing hit about 2 inches
behind the ball. This is very important because if you try and hit the
ball first you’ll just drive it back into the sand. By hitting 2 inches
behind the sand will actually lift the ball out your clubface really
doesn’t even touch the golf ball. *Remember it’s very important to
keep your clubface closed so that is can drive the ball out!
9. Remember to swing through the sand and not stop once you’ve
hit the sand.
10. Keep your angle steep throughout the shot.
Drill:
At the practice bunker stomp a few balls almost completely
submerged (make sure you can only see a little of the ball.
This will give you so much confidence because this only happens
in a small percentage of sand play. Focus on keeping your club
face closed throughout your swing….I can’t stress this enough!
Putting it all together in the bunker:
Normal bunker shot: square to slightly open clubface, evenly
balanced weight or weight on back foot, steep/vertical backswing
(lead with your left arm and keep your right elbow “locked” to its side),
keep your entire lower body still – no weight shifting until you hit the sand.
Buried lie in bunker: slightly closed clubface, forward press your
hand a little, majority of your weight on your front foot, steep/vertical
backswing (lead with your left arm and keep your right elbow “locked”
to its side), keep your entire lower body still.

Introduction
Sometimes during a round of golf, I find that my shots are going all over the place. I find myself off balance and choppy. This is a signal that my swing is not working. To correct this I must say to myself it is time to get your golf swing back in good, working order. My goal is to get my golf swing back. I do this by correcting my balance.
Golfers
Golfers who have mastered this simple process of improving balance find the game of golf is not as difficult because they find it very easy to maintain focus over the ball. A major fault of both accomplished and recreational golfers alike is taking the club too far inside on the backswing. This inside position generally leads to the club getting stuck behind the right hip (for right-handed golfers) on the downswing, preventing the desired, down-the-line release.
This was when I first realized, by using my simple practice methods, that in just a few minutes I was adding 20 yards, or more, to my swing. Professional and low-handicap golfers consider the swing plane to be one of the most important concepts in golf. The majority of recreational golfers fail to achieve the correct swing plane and their balance is thrown off.
Balance
Practice before you hit the shot as if you were going to hit the shot with the same swing posistion. From that position I swing, keeping my club on a balanced swing plane and feeling the swing in my feet. Swing to a balanced finish allowed me to swing within myself. Having and maintaining good balance throughout your golf swing is one of the cornerstones to success. Good golf balance gives you the ability to rotate around a fixed spine angle efficiently. Maybe you have not heard this specifically, but if you rock back on the rear foot, fall forward onto the toes or have to move the feet during the swing, these are all signs that the swing is off balance.
Are you falling back during your downswing or finishing your swing off balance?
Tips to better balance
- Bend at the hips, keep your back straight and slightly bend the knees, and swing the club more up and down.
- During the middle of the round before you hit the shot take a few practice swings to correct your balance.
- You can watch videos and see how to achieve Golf Swing Balance. Details of videos and further golf instruction
The majority of recreational golfers fail to achieve the balance needed to excel at golf or any athletic activity. Now, improve your golf swing you must improve your balance which leads to improved control on the course.
Conclusion
Be able to get your golf swing back right away if it stops working on the golf course. This article has explained how to get your golf swing back right away if it stops working on the golf course and that is by improving your balance.
The Golf Swing is the most important part of the golf game.
Yes, everyone knows that. Then why is it that the
average golfer has so much problems with the swing?
The answer is that the average golfer spends way to much time on
worrying about way too many things that the mind becomes overloaded and
causes the body to malfunction and mishit the golf ball.
There is a way to correct this and that is with a simple golf swing.
You heard the term Keep it Simple Stupid. I’m going to tell
you that you can improve your swing by just keeping it simple.
The swing mechanics should be engrained in your mind and automatic.
You should not have to think about. What do you
think about when you hit a shot? Do you think Oh! I hope I
don’t slice it and then you slice it.
What you can do is practice good sound mechanics to setup your
shot everytime.
Your body can be trained to subconciously repeat the same swing over
and over without thinking about it out on the practice range.

swing to give you some tips and advice to help you score on the golf
course. There is also menu tabs to click for various pages on the golf swing.
